mid month studio updates

Dear ones,

Welcome back into the studio.

Around me are jumbles of rainbow colored thread, a watercolor palette and a green glass bottle with a single paint brush resting in its narrow neck. I’ve been prepping some cards, painting them in one go before drawing out designs and poking the holes needed for embroidery. I’m finding that the paint is drying faster than I’d prefer due to the extreme heat, and I struggle to get the depth of color I’m looking for.

Outside the sun is beating down heavy, bestowing energy upon some and lethargy upon others. In the sanctuary of my studio, I land somewhere in the middle. My mind wants to go-go-go, but my body asks otherwise, and for the most part, I’ve been listening.
